Memorial Woman’s Club – Forging friendships through our traditional monthly luncheons with fun new experiences and activities since 1974.

Founded over five decades ago as an offshoot of a local welcoming organization, the Memorial Women’s Club (MWC) has grown into a premier social hub for dynamic women of the traditional and iconic neighborhoods of Houston. Although we've had a waiting list in the past, we are happy to announce we have available memberships again this year! We welcome you to apply as we actively grow while we approach the membership cap. 

The Member Experience

As an active MWC member, your annual "Signature Membership" unlocks our calendar of events and connection opportunities:

Monthly Signature Luncheons: Our upscale luncheons held at the Houston Racquet Club on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, typically begin at 11:30 AM. They feature a delicious lunch and dessert prepared by the Racquet Club kitchen, with inspiring guest speakers, presentations, fashion shows, and raffle prizes! For the 2026-2027 season, there are 7 luncheons, including 2 style shows. 

Guest privileges: As a member, you can also reserve a seat at luncheons for your non-member guests. Other organized events may or may not allow guests. 

Pre-Luncheon Mahjong: You'll also have the option to enjoy over two hours of game play and socializing before our monthly luncheons—perfect for all skill levels. Typically begins around 9:00 AM.

Exclusive Members Only Mobile App: Connect effortlessly with your fellow members through our private mobile app. Easily see event details and make your reservations conveniently.

Charitable Participation: If you like, you will have the opportunity to make a big difference by helping with our annual charity drive.

Subgroups & Social Outings: This year we are bringing back some of the Special Interest Groups that we had in the club prior to 2020. We are already planning Mahjong opportunities including help for beginners, and are looking for those interested in the MWC Book Club, and MWC Field Trippers.

Signature Membership Details

Geographic Footprint: Membership is open to women residing within the Houston neighborhood areas listed below. Please apply even if you do not live in one of these areas, as we do have some members from other great neighborhoods of Houston!

Annual Dues: Our Signature Membership is $60 per year (renews annually on September 1st). Renewals are not automatic. Luncheon reservations are reserved separately per event for $50 to $65. Other events may or may not have a reservation fee. 

Guest Policy: Members can invite non-member guests. Each guest may attend up to two luncheons as a non-member. 

 Note on Membership Capacity: To maintain the intimate, personal atmosphere of our events, active memberships will be capped. Applications are reviewed by our board in the order they are received. Our system will also maintain a waiting list after the cap is reached.
